Incorporated in April of 1981,
Ithaka Land, Inc., owns
and maintains properties for the benefit of low-income people. We
provide both transitional and permanant rentals primarily serving
those individuals earning less than 30% of the area median income
adjusted for family size. Also known as Ithaka Land Trust, we hold
property "in trust" and "in perpetuity" on behalf of people with
limited incomes. We currently house more than 125 residents at two
hospitality houses, two apartment buildings, two four-unit buildings,
and fifteen houses.
The land trust benefits from our two most-valued
volunteers who make much of our work possible, and residents who
give back to our organization. The number of people we serve remains
small, allowing the land trust to maintain personal
adding a sense of community to our day-to-day operations.
